Graston Technique® for Auto Accident Injuries

What is the Graston Technique®?

The Graston Technique® with Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) is used for diagnosing and treating those with soft tissue dysfunction. Through IASTM, we are able to locate and manipulate soft tissues. The use of instruments eliminates the over-use of a clinician’s hands. There are several variations of these instruments on the market, each version based off the original version.

IASTM instruments are used for detecting and treating fascial dysfunction by magnifying abnormalities such as scars, adhesions, and restrictions which makes identifying and treating these soft tissues easier. These instruments are preferred over using fingers due to the ability to provide less friction, which facilitates a treatment that is more efficient. The goal of IASTM is to stimulate the production of new collagen by triggering an inflammatory healing response that assists with a proper, functional, and less-painful healing process.

Graston Technique® allows a chiropractor to get as deep into the tissue as necessary to promote healing, yet be sensitive to your pain and tolerance. As the doctor moves the tools over the problem area and engages the adhesions, they break up scar tissue and muscle restrictions. In time, this process will reduce or eliminate the adhered fibers, restoring range of motion and eliminating the associated pain. Try Graston today to help restore your soft tissue injury into healthy functioning tissue.

What are the Benefits of the Graston Technique with IASTM?

  • Increased healing time through faster rehabilitation
  • Reduced reliance on anti-inflammatory medication
  • Increased ability to continue with daily activities
  • Increased likelihood of resolving chronic conditions
